  • May dates in Enniskillen and Derry
  • Successful Irish Tour

The Hanna Sisters have been enjoying a well deserved break in April after a whirlwind tour which saw them grace the stages of Denmark in February and cover these shores from Listowel to Coleraine through the month of March. They have two dates scheduled for May 12 and 19in Enniskillen and Derry respectively which draws the Irish tour to a close before they pack their bags again for the European festival circuit.

“February and March passed like a whirlwind” explains Mary. When we weren’t travelling to and from gigs we were being interviewed by radio stations or doing TV, radio or printed media PR. We’ve had a nice wee break and we’re now really looking forward to these two gigs. Our album About Time is selling well and getting good volumes of radio play and positive critical reviews. We can really concentrate on enjoying the live experience in two beautiful venues with the people of Fermanagh and Derry. We’ve also had enquiries from a number of people who caught some of the earlier gigs looking to see the concert again which is encouraging”

In concert the Hanna Sisters are a real delight with their distinctive vocal harmonies much to the fore as they play many of their own compositions and songs that have influenced them over the years. This is interspersed with jigs and reels to keep the audience on their toes and the whole effect is a very enjoyable and invigorating nights entertainment. The girls good looks are of course an added bonus if not a slight distraction to the musical experience!

Their album “About Time” is a 12 track compilation of the girls own songs and the girls have been delighted both with the reception at the live performances and the critical response to the Album.

The Hanna Sisters are from County Armagh and they regularly grace venues around northern Europe as well as here at home. They have a debut album called 'About Time' in production with Rod McVey, but from the tracks I've heard it'll make a crackling good pop-rock album with obvious trad nuances. 'In Time' sizzles over a solid beat, an infectious melody and some fine violin playing from Nuala Hanna. 'Hotline to your Soul' is more laid back with delicious harmonies and a gem of a chorus. 'Princes Port' ups the ante again and delivers a fine radio-friendly track. The Hanna Sisters offer us classy, intelligent pop songs, tastefully blended with their exhilarating Irish traditional musicianship, all topped off with their fine harmonies. Mainstream Irish radio needs records like this.
